Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Richard Ramirez (ranked 6081 p4p, 4238 weight class) and Robert KO (ranked 0 p4p, 484 weight class). Ramirez comes to the cage accompanied by Get Lucky. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Robert KO!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Peter Branson and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
KO looks to score with a jab to the body but Ramirez is just out of range.
Ramirez takes a swing at KO's ribcage but misses.
KO throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ramirez defending well as KO loads up on a big left hand.
Ramirez attempts a counter takedown but KO avoids it well and moves away.

Ramirez dives in and scores a takedown into KO's guard.
Ramirez passes easily into side control. Nice work.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ramirez swings around for an armbar but KO sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Ramirez's guard.

Ramirez bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in KO's guard.


KO looking for a guillotine here but Ramirez defends easily.

KO really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ramirez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ramirez is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so KO is just riding it out for now. Ramirez eventually gives up the hold.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Ramirez is pushing down on KO's leg trying to pass to half guard. KO is fighting to maintain full guard but Ramirez has managed to sneak the leg through.

Ramirez is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Ramirez seems to be working for a kimura but KO defends the submission attempt.

KO is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ramirez pulls his head out easily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ramirez wants to pass the guard but KO is defending well.
KO wants to get back to full guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


KO gets caught napping as Ramirez dives in and scores a takedown. KO manages to retain guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

KO tries to lock up and control but Ramirez gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Ramirez cracks KO with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Ramirez is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But KO has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from KO!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Ramirez is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! KO rolls with it to try and escape but Ramirez cranks on the arm and KO is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Richard Ramirez!
After the fight, Richard Ramirez was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
