The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Josh West and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monthouse ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Bateman.
Monthouse is trying to control Bateman's posture but Bateman avoids it.
Bateman in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
You can see the frustration on Monthouse 's face as Bateman controls the position.

Bateman remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Monthouse is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Bateman defends well.

Monthouse wants to get back to his feet but Bateman is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Monthouse stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Monthouse wants it to stay on the feet.
Monthouse shoots for a double leg takedown but Bateman sprawls well. He's pushed Monthouse 's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
