Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jose Luciano! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jean Claude Van Guile! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Alyssa Summers and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick misses from Van Guile. Luciano looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Van Guile lands with a nice body punch. Luciano throws a nice inside leg kick. Van Guile misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Luciano.
Van Guile slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Good work by Luciano as he checks the leg kick. Luciano throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! A head kick misses from Van Guile. Luciano scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Luciano bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Luciano looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Van Guile lands a right hook to the body.
Luciano closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Luciano misses with the head strike.
Van Guile is struggling to control the position. Luciano successfully pulls guard.
Van Guile must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Van Guile won't allow Luciano to sweep him here. Van Guile avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Van Guile trying to control the position from guard on top but Luciano is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Luciano looking for a guillotine here but Van Guile defends easily.
Van Guile got a little sloppy there for a moment and Luciano has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Van Guile has managed to get both his arms back between Luciano's legs - danger averted. Luciano has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Van Guile should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Luciano has tightened it up now! Van Guile should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
