Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Connor McDavid (ranked 22233 p4p, 23276 weight class) and Chong Tay (ranked 787 p4p, 742 weight class). McDavid has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Connor McDavid has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tay misses with a jab, cross combination.
A big left from McDavid misses.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Tay! But no joy.
Tay pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Tay tries a head kick but it misses.
McDavid is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Tay swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
McDavid appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Tay tries to land a front kick but McDavid steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

McDavid tries to clinch but Tay is having none of it.
Tay throws a half hearted mid kick.

and McDavid counters with a low kick, right behind Tay 's knee.
McDavid jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

McDavid fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

McDavid avoids the head kick by Tay.
A head kick misses from Tay.
McDavid fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tay manages to avoid it.

Tay clips McDavid with a right and a left that makes him do the chicken dance for a couple of seconds. He touched his left hand down on the canvas so the referee steps between the fighters to give McDavid a standing 8 count before we can continue the bout.

It looks like Connor McDavid has been cut.

Tay staggers McDavid with a jab and knocks him down with a follow up straight! McDavid looks in trouble, will he beat the count?! The count has reached 5 and he's only back to 1 knee - it's going to be close! 6,7,8 - he's up! Just in time and the ref is going to let the fight continue!

Tay throws a leg kick which misses McDavid's front leg but catches the back leg as McDavid tries to avoid it.
Tay tries to score with a low kick but McDavid moves his leg out of the way.
A little feinted left hand from McDavid on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
McDavid throws a jab but it's blocked by Tay.
Tay tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
McDavid slips a jab and a cross from Tay.
Tay looks to land a body kick but McDavid moved away.
McDavid misses with a low kick.
Tay throws a big shot that misses.
McDavid blocks the body kick.
Tay misses with a head kick.
McDavid works Tay's body with a nice hook.
Tay throws an uppercut from half a mile away. McDavid sees it coming and avoids it easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tay closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks McDavid out cold! McDavid corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.

In his post fight interview, Chong Tay started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
