Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Luis Vega (ranked 21513 p4p, 4260 weight class) and Cole Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vega comes to the cage accompanied by Truth - Atomic thunder. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 14 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Luis Vega! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cole Miller! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vega staying out of range there. Vega looks to land a left hand but Miller moved out of range nicely. Miller let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Miller uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Vega. Miller fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Vega throws a lazy right hand but Miller sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Vega uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Miller with a nice cross. Vega misses with a right hand and Miller counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Miller comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Cole Miller seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Vega misses with an uppercut. Vega throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Miller avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Vega's corner calls for a 1-2. Vega obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Vega takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

and Vega counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Vega throws a body shot but no joy. Vega misses with a left hand and Miller cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Vega fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Miller manages to avoid it. Miller connects with a looping right hand.

and Vega counters with a nice uppercut. Miller lands a jab. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Vega misses with a hook
and Miller counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Decent striking displayed by Vega there. Vega misses with a looping right.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vega throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Miller has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Vega closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Vega lands in his opponent's guard. Vega pushes down on Miller's leg and manages to get into half guard. Vega performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Vega seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Miller does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Vega wants to pass to mount but Miller is defending the position. Vega sitting and controlling from the half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vega looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Vega is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Miller sees it coming and defends easily. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Miller can do anything to dispel that myth. Vega is taking a breather. Miller says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Vega wants to free his trapped foot but Miller is holding on for dear life with his legs. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Luis Vega will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! A cross from Miller lands. Miller lands a nice shot to the body.
Vega uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Miller.
Miller throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Nice jab there from Miller. Vega swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Vega misses with a straight right. Miller walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Miller scores with a spinning back kick! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Miller misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Vega appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Vega looks to score with a jab to the body but Miller is just out of range. Miller scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Miller dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vega throws a looping overhand right but Miller ducks down to avoid it. Vega scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Miller doesn't seem bothered though. Miller uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Vega. Vega throws a lazy right hand but Miller sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Vega throws a hook to the side of Miller's head but Miller sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Vega has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Vega there as he acknowledges the shot. Cole Miller seems to be getting the better of the standup. Vega gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Miller throws a leg kick that misses. It looked like Vega wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Miller comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. A jab from Vega misses. Miller throws a right hand that misses
and Vega counters with a nice uppercut. Vega on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Vega drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Miller darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

and Miller takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. A big left from Vega misses. Miller fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Vega looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Vega misses with a hook. Miller ducked under it nicely. Vega throws a body shot but no joy. Vega uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Miller. Vega closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Miller quickly recovers to half guard. Vega moves into full mount! Miller won't be happy about that! Vega goes for an armbar but Miller turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Miller. Vega is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Vega wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it. Vega wants to control the pace but Miller is squirming around nicely. Vega moves to the back position. A lull in the action here.

That was a close second round but I would say that Luis Vega will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round! Miller tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Vega is able to avoid easily. Miller lands with a right hand. Vega misses with a hook. Miller ducked under it nicely. Miller avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Vega closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Miller did well to prevent Vega getting side control. Vega is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Miller! Miller is squirming around, avoiding Vega's attempts to control the action. Miller is controlling an arm, preventing Vega from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vega is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Miller has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Miller is trying desperately to improve position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vega looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Vega seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Miller is holding on tight.
Miller has given up his back.
Vega has managed to slip his arm under Miller's chin. This could be all over... yep, Miller is tapping out! Submission win for Vega.
