PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Waltur Hans (ranked 4632 p4p, 5259 weight class) and Ismail Yildirim (ranked 508 p4p, 434 weight class). Hans's entrance music is My Heart is Cold - Bad History. A fine choice. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Waltur Hans!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ismail Yildirim!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Josh West and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A momentary lapse in concentration from Yildirim enables Hans to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Yildirim manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Hans stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Yildirim swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hans drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hans jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Hans passes into half guard.
Yildirim is looking to escape.
Hans is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Yildirim defends it well.
Hans is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Yildirim is just riding it out for now. Hans eventually gives up the hold.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hans seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Yildirim is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Waltur Hans!
