Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Dave Hardknocks! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Franklin Marshall! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Paul Tew and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marshall takes the fight into the clinch. Hardknocks looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Marshall prevents the takedown attempt.
Hardknocks tries to break the clinch but Marshall is controlling the position. Marshall breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Marshall fails with the takedown. Marshall looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hardknocks is fending him off so far but Marshall persists. Nope, Hardknocks circles away and we're back to standing. Marshall lands a leg kick that knocks Hardknocks off balance momentarily. Marshall scores with a jab. Hardknocks acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Hardknocks definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Marshall is looking to take this fight into the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Marshall closes the distance and clinches. Marshall lands a knee to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marshall pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Hardknocks stuffs the takedown. Dave Hardknocks has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Franklin Marshall. Hardknocks closes the distance and pushes Marshall back into the cage. Marshall leaning his opponent against the cage. Hardknocks trying to stall but Marshall improves his position.
Marshall pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Hardknocks closes the distance and clinches. Marshall decides to pull guard. Marshall controls Hardknocks momentarily but Hardknocks frees himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hardknocks is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Marshall has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Hardknocks is looking to defend but Marshall has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Hardknocks! Marshall pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Hardknocks taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Franklin Marshall! The defeated Dave Hardknocks had this to say: 'The refferee was biased, I want a rematch!'.
