Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between AJ Gardener (ranked 25175 p4p, 24965 weight class) and Jack Palmer (ranked 531 p4p, 489 weight class). Jack Palmer has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, AJ Gardener! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jack Palmer! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Daniel Franklin and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gardener scores with a takedown into Palmer's guard. Palmer is looking for a triangle but Gardener pushes his legs off easily.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Gardener's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Gardener trying to control but Palmer is working from the bottom. Gardener will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Gardener working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Gardener stops Palmer from standing up. Gardener trying to control but Palmer is working from the bottom. Palmer looking to control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Palmer has momentary wrist control but Gardener slips an elbow through the middle. Gardener passes Palmer's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Gardener is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
That's one minute gone in the round. Palmer has hold of Gardener's hands but Gardener slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Gardener throwing shots but Palmer is blocking nicely. Palmer wants to control but Gardener is keeping busy.
Gardener has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Gardener working the head and body with strikes. Palmer on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Palmer has hold of Gardener's hands but Gardener slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Gardener looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Palmer is not content to let Gardener control the position. Gardener frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Gardener has hold of Palmer's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Palmer manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee warns Palmer that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Gardener putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Gardener has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Gardener raining down shots from the mount! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Palmer in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Gardener lands a big shot there that rocks Palmer but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Palmer is bucking up trying to escape but Gardener cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Gardener landing strikes from the mount and Palmer is in trouble! The referee warns Palmer that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Gardener is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Palmer can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gardener looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Palmer takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Palmer tries to lock up and control but Gardener gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Palmer looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Gardener really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Gardener jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Palmer manages to avoid the submission attempt. Gardener goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Palmer rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Gardener's guard! Nice work there by Palmer! Gardener is trying to keep Palmer in close.
Gardener on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Gardener tries to get out of the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Palmer is fighting to break Gardener's control of his arms but Gardener is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Palmer wants to control from the top but Gardener keeps moving. Gardener avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Gardener has his feet on Palmer's thighs here. He's pushed Palmer off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Palmer screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
