Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Eder Teixeira!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Pittarick McGrowler!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGrowler shoots in but Teixeira avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Nice defenses there by McGrowler.
McGrowler is trying hard to land a takedown here. Teixeira sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
McGrowler darts in looking for a takedown but Teixeira gets double underhooks and turns McGrowler into the cage.
Eder Teixeira has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pittarick McGrowler.

McGrowler throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Teixeira's waist but Teixeira gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing McGrowler off to one side.
We've been told by Teixeira's head coaches at Walter J Abramowitz Center for Bigness that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Teixeira looks to score with a jab to the body but McGrowler is just out of range.

and Teixeira connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

As Teixeira backs off McGrowler throws a huge counter combo but Teixeira manages to avoid it all.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Teixeira leaves McGrowler with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

McGrowler goes for a double leg but Teixeira avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Teixeira continues to drive forward.
McGrowler's coach down at Tez’s Stand N Bang ! was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on McGrowler's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Teixeira tries to bum rush McGrowler with a series of wild strikes but McGrowler uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Pittarick McGrowler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McGrowler shoots in looking for a takedown but Teixeira manages to keep the fight standing, pushing McGrowler's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
McGrowler moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Teixeira defends well against a solid takedown attempt from McGrowler.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Teixeira lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Teixeira is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

McGrowler walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
McGrowler avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Teixeira is stalking McGrowler. McGrowler circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Teixeira, and it's lights out! McGrowler really payed the price for that rookie mistake.
