Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Murray (ranked 5288 p4p, 6270 weight class) and Ray Turn (ranked 549 p4p, 593 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Andrew Murray!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ray Turn !
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, David Hoff and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murray misses with a double jab.
Murray lands with a nice combination. Turn backs away looking to recover.

It looks like Ray Turn has been cut.
Murray throws a right and a left that both miss.
Turn tries to close the distance and clinch up but Murray swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Turn closes this distance looking for a takedown but Murray circles away.
Turn takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Murray has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Cozad The Island in the buildup to the fight.
Turn shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Murray as he jumps to the side.
Murray rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Turn moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Turn fails with an attempt to clinch.
Murray lands a lovely overhand right.
Murray keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Andrew Murray has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ray Turn .
Murray goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Turn clinches with his opponent.

Murray pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Turn shoots in for a double leg but Murray sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Murray lands a jab.

Murray fails to land with a series of punches.

Turn drives through with a takedown into Murray's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Murray is pulling down on Turn 's head. It's preventing any offense from Turn , at least for the moment.
Turn is looking to work some ground and pound but Murray has wrist control.

Turn is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Turn connects with a couple of short punches.
Murray keeping moving, preventing Turn from controlling successfully.
Turn is fighting to break Murray's control of his arms but Murray is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Turn advances position into side control!
Murray knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Turn on the ground.
Turn throwing strikes but missing, from side control.

Turn tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Turn has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Turn has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Turn wants to control but Murray is keeping him busy.

Turn postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Murray is looking for a sweep.
Murray can't do much from the bottom here.

Turn is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Murray has escaped the position, nice work there.
Murray is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Turn is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Murray doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Turn .

Turn is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Turn decides to stand and escape the position.
Murray is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Murray tries to keep at a distance but Turn has taken the fight into the clinch.
Turn misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Murray.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Turn has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Murray after a bit of a struggle.
Turn wants to take the fight to the mat but Murray manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Murray manages to break the clinch.
Murray slaps away a takedown attempt from Turn , before circling back to the center of the mat.
Andrew Murray is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Murray cracks Turn with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Murray lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Turn backs up against the cage.
Murray misses with a series of wild punches.

Murray throws a one two combo.

That has opened up Ray Turn 's cut even more.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Murray throws a combination. Turn tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Turn misses with an uppercut. Murray saw that one coming.

Turn clinches up with Murray and pushes him back against the cage.
Murray tries to circle away but Turn has him pinned against the cage.
Murray lands a hook that snaps the head of Turn backwards.
Murray has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Turn tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Murray avoids it.
Murray blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Murray breaks from the clinch.
Murray lands with a nice body punch.
Murray displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.

Turn closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Turn trying to land knees to the body.

Murray escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Murray connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Turn momentarily.

The cut above Ray Turn 's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Murray gets caught napping as Turn dives in and scores a takedown. Murray manages to retain guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Andrew Murray dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Ray Turn 's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Turn takes one to the side of the head.
Murray is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Turn can do to turn this around?

Murray steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Turn .
Murray changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Ray Turn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Murray drops Turn with a beautiful combination! Turn stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Murray is looking for the KO!

Turn is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Turn shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Murray sprawls well. Murray wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Turn gets slowly back to his feet.
Turn misses with a takedown

and Murray counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Nice strikes from Murray there.
Murray wants to lay and pray for a moment but Turn keeps working.
Murray could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Turn is looking to control Murray's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Turn avoid being mounted?
Murray will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Turn misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Turn is not content to let Murray control the position.
Murray is stalling here. Turn is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Murray seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Turn has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
You can see the frustration on Murray's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Turn misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Murray manages to work his way to half guard, despite Turn 's best efforts.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Turn prevents Murray from improving his position.

Turn is working for a kimura but Murray is defending it quite comfortably.

Turn is looking to advance position but Murray won't allow it.

Turn is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Murray is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Turn missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Murray tries to roll over but Turn keeps him under control.

Turn seems to be looking for submissions.
Turn wants to take a breather but Murray is having none of it.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Turn working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Turn prevents Murray from improving his position.
Turn seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Murray does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Murray holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Turn passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Murray!
