PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Titus Lesnar (ranked 706 p4p, 3389 weight class) and Justice Turner (ranked 90 p4p, 403 weight class). Lesnar's entrance music is Next Big Thing. A fine choice. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Titus Lesnar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Justice Turner!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, David Hoff and Santiago Holmes.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lesnar gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Turner breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Turner shoots in looking for a takedown. Lesnar tries to sprawl out of it but Turner keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lesnar manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Lesnar tries to counter with a takedown but Turner is quick to defend against it.
Turner throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lesnar's waist but Lesnar gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Turner off to one side.
Turner swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

so Lesnar counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Turner really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lesnar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Lesnar working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Turner's head.
Lesnar is stalling in the full guard.
Turner is looking to stand back up but Lesnar counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Turner.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Turner is looking to escape.
Lesnar is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Lesnar is taking a breather. Turner says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Lesnar scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Lesnar drops an elbow to the side of Turner's head.
Lesnar seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Turner taking some punishment here, with Lesnar in his half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Turner can do anything to dispel that myth.
Lesnar lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Turner! More strikes land and this one is all over! Lesnar jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Titus Lesnar!
In his post fight interview, Titus Lesnar started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
Justice Turner spoke after the fight, saying 'Fuck that nigga'.
