Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dan Chipman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cecil Otter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dan Chipman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cecil Otter!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chipman throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Chipman looks for a takedown but Otter sprawls well.
Chipman closes this distance looking for a takedown but Otter circles away.

Otter shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Chipman wants to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Otter tries to pass the half guard into mount. Chipman knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Otter is keen to just control but Chipman is a slippery customer.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Otter counters with a nice double leg into side control. Chipman won't be happy with that.

Otter has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Chipman's face.

Otter jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Chipman is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Chipman and Otter has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Otter scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Chipman to see if he's OK.
Chipman throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.

Chipman is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Otter is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Chipman is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

The referee warns Chipman that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Otter is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Chipman is surviving well by controlling Otter's body position as best he can.

Chipman gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Otter counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Otter postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Otter stands up over Chipman, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Chipman has his foot on Otter's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Otter works his way back into a safe position though.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Otter connects with a nice short shot to Chipman's temple.

Otter takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Otter is looking for a kimura but Chipman is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Otter to get the leverage.
Chipman has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Otter is working away from the top position though.
Otter lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Chipman is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Otter closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Chipman sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Otter wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chipman keeps working.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Chipman is not content to let Otter control the position.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Cecil Otter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Chipman with a poor takedown

and Otter decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Chipman's guard.

Otter tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Otter has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Otter decides to stand back up. Otter steps back and let's Chipman get back to his feet.

Cecil Otter comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Otter has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
