Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Muhammad Zulfiqar (ranked 2756 p4p, 4949 weight class) and Carlito Da Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Muhammad Zulfiqar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carlito Da Silva! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Da Silva clinches up against the cage. Da Silva has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Zulfiqar is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Zulfiqar stops a takedown attempt from Da Silva.
Zulfiqar has had enough of the clinch but Da Silva keeps him there for the moment. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Zulfiqar breaks from the clinch.
Zulfiqar is looking to slow Da Silva down with leg kicks. Zulfiqar lands a nice looking body kick. Zulfiqar closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Zulfiqar ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Da Silva lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Zulfiqar backs up against the cage.
Zulfiqar tries to land a front kick but Da Silva steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Da Silva closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Zulfiqar quickly recovers to half guard. Zulfiqar scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Da Silva manages to mount him!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Da Silva looking to secure an arm triangle but Zulfiqar defends it well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zulfiqar is trying to escape the mount.
Zulfiqar is working hard here to advance position. Da Silva controlling his opponent. Zulfiqar tries to hold on but Da Silva postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Da Silva looking to control and managing it successfully. Zulfiqar keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Zulfiqar knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Da Silva on the ground. Da Silva cracks Zulfiqar with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Da Silva with the ground and pound from mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Zulfiqar keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Zulfiqar is looking to get to half guard. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Da Silva cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Da Silva prevents Zulfiqar from getting the reversal. Da Silva controlling his opponent. It looks like Da Silva might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Da Silva's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Zulfiqar tries to get back to half guard but can't. Da Silva sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Da Silva is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Zulfiqar is surviving well by controlling Da Silva's body position as best he can. Da Silva lands a big shot there that rocks Zulfiqar but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Da Silva takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Da Silva has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Da Silva looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Carlito Da Silva dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Zulfiqar throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Da Silva fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Zulfiqar sprawls well initially but Da Silva persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Da Silva seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Da Silva is thwarting Zulfiqar's attempts to control the position. Da Silva is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Da Silva wants to work for an arm triangle but Zulfiqar is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Da Silva slips a nice elbow through Zulfiqar's hands, connecting with Zulfiqar's forehead. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Da Silva trying to control the pace. Zulfiqar scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Da Silva manages to mount him!
That's one minute gone in the round. Da Silva with shots to the head and body - Zulfiqar looks very uncomfortable down there. Zulfiqar is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Da Silva controlling from mount. Zulfiqar wants to get back to his feet but in bucking up he's left an arm hanging out! Da Silva has locked onto it and has pulled off a slick armbar! Zulfiqar taps furiously! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Carlito Da Silva!
