Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ulysses Blazkov (ranked 7 p4p, 42 weight class) and Heavy Rain (ranked 2 p4p, 8 weight class). Blazkov's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Me And The Devil. Rain comes into a darkened arena with his song building. For Heavy Metal we will die! kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 28 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ulysses Blazkov! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 36 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Heavy Rain! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Hirohito Nitta and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rain shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Rain works Blazkov's body with a nice hook. Rain takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Blazkov throws a lazy body kick letting Rain counter with a right hand. Blazkov has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The Zoo in the buildup to the fight. Rain lands with a nice body kick. Blazkov getting the better of the striking in that exchange. A big left from Blazkov misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rain misses with a leg kick and Blazkov cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Rain is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Rain looks for the body kick but Blazkov saw that one coming. Rain lands with an uppercut that bounces Blazkov off the cage and back into range.
It looks like Ulysses Blazkov has been cut. Rain scores with a one two! Blazkov had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jab from Rain. Rain lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Blazkov throws a lazy body kick and Rain counters with a lovely straight right hand! Blazkov ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Rain throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Rain lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Rain jabs Blazkov to the body, keeping him at a distance. Rain is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Blazkov lands the left hand. Rain lands a left and a right that send Blazkov crashing to the mat, dazed. Rain thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Blazkov is rocked!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Rain lands with a thumping leg kick.

A thudding body kick lands there by Rain!
Rain has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Rain misses with a body shot.
Rain throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Blazkov throws a shot from downtown. Rain moves away and avoids it. A countering left hand to the body from Rain misses. Blazkov on the wrong end of a nice jab. Blazkov moves out of range of the body kick from Rain.
Rain misses with a hook. Blazkov ducked under it nicely. Rain throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Blazkov stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A lazy left from Rain finds it's target. Rain throws a sloppy head kick and Blazkov moves out of range easily. Blazkov throws the left hand but Rain avoids the punch easily. Rain throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Blazkov uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Rain. Blazkov throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
letting Rain counter with a right hand. Rain has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Blazkov shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Blazkov looks for the body kick but Rain saw that one coming. Blazkov looks to land a body kick but Rain moved away. Blazkov misses with an attempted mid kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A jab from Blazkov finds it's way through Rain's defenses. Blazkov walks into a jab. Rain pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. A little feinted left hand from Blazkov on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Blazkov takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Rain cracks Blazkov with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Rain is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Blazkov had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush. Rain misses with a jab to the body
and Blazkov counters with a nice uppercut. Rain misses with a head kick.

Despite the aggression on Rain's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Rain dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Blazkov. That did some damage! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Heavy Rain dominated that round. The cut man is working on Ulysses Blazkov's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Blazkov pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Heavy Rain seems to be getting the better of the standup. Rain scores with a punch to the head. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Rain. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Rain scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. A slapping body kick lands there for Rain. Rain fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Blazkov on the side of the head. Rain scores with a jab to the jaw. Rain tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A slow jab from Blazkov misses its intended target. Rain dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Rain lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Blazkov backs up against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rain throws a jab when Blazkov was well out of range. Rain scores with a decent looking hook. A lazy body kick from Rain enabling Blazkov to counter with a crisp jab. Blazkov misses the jab. It seemed like Rain was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Rain has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Rain lands a big head kick that sends Blazkov tumbling to the mat! Rain takes a step backwards and waves Blazkov back to his feet - he wants the finish! Oh Blazkov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Rain closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks Blazkov out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:41 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Heavy Rain! Heavy Rain is the new heavyweight champion! In his post fight interview, Heavy Rain started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
