The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A solid leg kick lands there for O Reilly.
O Reilly gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Karpo wants to take the fight to the mat but O Reilly manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Karpo walks into a stiff left hand from O Reilly.

O Reilly fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Karpo.
Karpo throws a hook but O Reilly avoids it easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Karpo throws an uppercut from half a mile away. O Reilly sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Karpo closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
We've been hearing good reports from O Reilly's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Karpo is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. O Reilly knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Karpo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Karpo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
O Reilly sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

O Reilly escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Karpo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
O Reilly controls Karpo momentarily but Karpo frees himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Karpo wants to control from the top but O Reilly keeps moving.

O Reilly has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Karpo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Karpo working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Karpo goes for an armbar but he's not got it… O Reilly turns into him and now he's in Karpo's guard.

O Reilly fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Karpo has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

A very excited looking Hannu Karpo rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
