Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jay Steve (ranked 672 p4p, 310 weight class) and James Noir (ranked 98 p4p, 43 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Jay Steve has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Jay Steve seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 28 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jay Steve! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 19 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Noir! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Ren Mimura and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Steve dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Steve fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Noir manages to avoid it. A looping hook to the body misses from Noir. Steve does a little dance to reset his feet. Noir tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Steve was well out of range. Poor timing from Noir. Noir works Steve's body with a nice hook. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Noir has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Steve is looking to clinch. Noir looks like he wants to counter punch here. Steve throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Noir sees it coming and avoids it easily. Noir doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Steve fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Noir ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Noir fails to land with a series of punches.
A little feinted left hand from Steve on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Noir swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Steve looks to score with a jab to the body but Noir is just out of range. Noir jabbing away but nothing is landing. Noir scores with a shot to the body.

and Steve takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. James Noir seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Steve swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Noir. Noir takes a swing at Steve's ribcage but misses. Steve has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Noir connects with a right hand. Steve shakes it off. Noir scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Noir throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Steve works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Noir prevents Steve from standing back up.
Noir looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Steve with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Steve wants to get back to his feet. Noir takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Noir with the ground and pound but Steve uses the opportunity to regain guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Noir has gone for a leg lock! Steve slips out almost immediately though and dives into Noir's guard.
Steve avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Steve stands up and waves to Noir to follow him. Steve displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Noir. A quick step to the side and Steve tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Noir clobbers Steve with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Noir throws out a token jab with nothing on it. An attempted straight right counter from Steve misses the target. Steve misses with a double jab
and Noir counters with a nice uppercut. Steve sizes up Noir with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Noir uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Steve.
Noir stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Noir thuds his right hand into Steve's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Noir missing with a left hand there. Steve was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Steve is looking to counter punch. Noir throws a wild combination but nothing lands. A shot to the liver by Steve. Beautiful body shot. Steve throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Noir cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Noir scores with a shot to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Steve takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Noir throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Steve wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Steve just misses with a punch to the body.
Noir fails with the takedown. Steve slaps away a takedown attempt from Noir, before circling back to the center of the mat. Jay Steve has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Noir. Steve throws out a loose jab but Noir uses good head movement to avoid it. A jab from Noir misses. The fighters circling - Noir throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Noir misses with a wild body shot. Steve seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
James Noir dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Noir scores with a hook. Steve is looking to wear down Noir with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Noir feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Steves jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Steve ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Noir moves away. Noir scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Noir tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Steve was well out of range. Poor timing from Noir. Noir throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Steve. Noir uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Steve.

It looked like Steve was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Noir. Noir ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Steve moves away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Steve moves out of range as Noir strikes. Noir takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Steve misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Noir.

and Noir counters with a stiff right hand. Steve cracks Noir with a good jab. Steve slips a jab from Noir. A counter left hand to the body from Steve misses its target. Steve connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. The fighters circling - Steve throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Steve is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Noir. Jay Steve is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Steve uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Steve looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Noir throws a nice looking combination but Steve bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Steve lands with a good body shot. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Noir fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Steve avoids it really well and circles away.

A quick step to the side and Steve tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Noir connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Steve's hands. A punch lands to the side of Noir 's head but he takes it in his stride. Noir works Steve's body with a nice hook. Noir swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Steve throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Steve uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Noir. Noir slips under a jab. Steve on the wrong end of a nice hook. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Jay Steve will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round! A combination from Noir does no damage. Noir throws a body shot but no joy. Noir comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. The fighters circling - Steve throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Noir throws a body shot but no joy. Noir lands with an uppercut that bounces Steve off the cage and back into range. A momentary lapse in concentration from Steve enables Noir to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Steve manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Steve kicks Noir off and gets to his feet. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Noir ducks under a wild hook from Steve. Noir jabbing away but nothing is landing. A combination from Steve does no damage. Noir closes the distance and clinches up with Steve, looking for a takedown. Noir pushes Steve against the cage but Steve circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Steve throwing a counter right hand but Noir manages to avoid it.

Noir stuns Steve with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Noir throws a looping overhand right but Steve ducks down to avoid it. Noir throws a big shot that misses. Noir swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Steve on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Noir throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Steve stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Noir throws a jab when Steve was well out of range. Noir scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Nice uppercut there from Noir.

Steve scores with a nice strike. Noir smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Steve takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Noir gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Steve counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Jay Steve has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Noir. Noir takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Noir moves out of range of the strikes. Noir throws a right hand that misses
and Steve cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Steve moves into the clinch. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Steve. Steve can't find room to land a body shot as Noir controls the action.
Noir blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Noir can't break the clinch.
Steve looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Noir blocking some punches.
Steve throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Steve misses with a punch to the body.
Steve digs a right hand into Noir's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Noir's gas tank. Noir wants a takedown but no success here.
Steve gets underhooks to prevent Noir's takedown attempt.
Steve makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Good body shot from Steve.
Steve lands a shoulder strike. A nice right hand lands inside from Steve. Steve misses with a hook to the ribs.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Steve stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Steve tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Noir jumps guard but Steve stands there with Noir around his waist. Noir gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Steve lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Noir wants to take the fight to the mat but Steve manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. A right hook to the body lands for Steve.
Steve lands a hook that snaps the head of Noir backwards. Steve is leaning against Noir and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Steve lands a nice shot to the body. Steve lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Noir backwards. Steve tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Noir's elbow. Steve lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Steve lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Steve digs a right hand underneath Noir's ribcage. Noir let out a lung full of air as it connected. Steve doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Noir has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Steve is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. A short uppercut from Steve.
And that's the end of the fight! Jay Steve showed his dominance in that final round. I think Steve has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
