PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Trash Can (ranked 5301 p4p, 2409 weight class) and Midnight Cigarette (ranked 618 p4p, 350 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Cigarette's choice of entrance music: Burning of the Midnight Lamp. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cigarette closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Can did well to prevent Cigarette getting side control.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Can wants to control but Cigarette is keeping busy.
Can has hold of Cigarette's hands but Cigarette slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Can trying to control here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Can wants to get back to full guard but Cigarette has passed into side control.

Cigarette wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Can, who protects the arm well.
Cigarette working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Cigarette tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cigarette has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Can is looking for a sweep.
Cigarette works to advance to full mount. Can defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Cigarette looking to control and managing it successfully.
Can flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Cigarette raining down shots from the mount!

Can defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Cigarette.
Cigarette scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Can?
