Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ed Jones (ranked 722 p4p, 3137 weight class) and Lew Rockwell (ranked 98 p4p, 383 weight class). Jones comes into the arena with Say Jack - Andre Nickatina blaring out of the sound system. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ed Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 11 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lew Rockwell! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rockwell uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Jones. Jones ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Rockwell blocks a jab. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Jones, as that shot connected.
Rockwell fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Jones to the ground. Rockwell is now in Jones's guard. Jones preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jones utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rockwell accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Rockwell is in close to Jones's body, working some short punches and elbows. Rockwell missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Rockwell lands a couple of digs. Rockwell postures up in Jones's guard and throws a big left but Jones blocks it. Rockwell chips away with some ground and pound. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rockwell throwing strikes from guard but Jones blocks nicely. Rockwell trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rockwell throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jones works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Jones is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Rockwell is controlling him. Rockwell makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rockwell accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Jones has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Rockwell is working Jones over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Rockwell throws a big right hand that misses. Rockwell trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Rockwell throws a big elbow that misses. Jones will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Jones seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Rockwell throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Rockwell working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rockwell won't allow Jones to get back to his feet. Jones wants to sweep but no luck. Rockwell postures up in Jones's guard and throws a big left but Jones blocks it. Rockwell throws a strike but Jones rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Rockwell is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Jones avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Jones is looking to stand up but Rockwell won't let him. Rockwell working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Jones has passed into half guard!
Rockwell wants to control but Jones is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rockwell looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Rockwell looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Jones postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Rockwell to stand up. Rockwell shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jones as he jumps to the side. Rockwell gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Jones. Rockwell changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jones tries to avoid it but Rockwell manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jones to the ground. Jones escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. A cross from Jones lands. Rockwell misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Ed Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lew Rockwell. Rockwell looks winded! Rockwell shoots for a double leg takedown but Jones sprawls well. He's pushed Rockwell's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Jones moves into range and connects with a jab. Jones is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Rockwell avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rockwell shoots in and gets a takedown into Jones's guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jones is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Rockwell stopping the sweep attempt from Jones. Rockwell throws an elbow that misses. Jones uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Rockwell's guard. Nice move by Jones! Jones wants to stand but Rockwell has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Jones stands and steps away. Rockwell gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Lew Rockwell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rockwell has a takedown stuffed. Jones cracks Rockwell with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Jones has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Rockwell to stand back up!
It looks like Lew Rockwell has been cut. Jones Throws a clean left jab. Jones Twirls his body and connects with a Spinning Back Fist that connects flush with Rockwell's chin! Rockwell crumbles to the ground and Jones follows up with some unanswered strikes. It's all over!! Nice standup skills displayed by Jones!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Ed Jones! In his post fight interview, Ed Jones started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
