Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Chris Toanesti!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Charlie IV!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Marco Blurström and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
IV stuffs the takedown.
IV throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Toanesti sees it coming and avoids it easily.
IV lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Toanesti shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with IV but IV pushes him off and we're back to square one.
IV throws a hook but Toanesti blocks it.
Toanesti tries to counter with a takedown but IV is quick to defend against it.
Toanesti is trying hard to land a takedown here. IV sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Toanesti. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Toanesti uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from IV.
Toanesti looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
A lazy left from IV finds it's target.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Toanesti.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
IV throws a looping overhand right but Toanesti ducks down to avoid it.
IV's coach down at Hotrod Express MMA Training was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on IV's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
BOOM! IV lands a beautiful left hook that drops Toanesti. Toanesti tries to recover but IV is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Toanesti lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Charlie IV!
Charlie IV decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
Chris Toanesti spoke after the fight, saying 'No worries, guys. The Athletic Commission has just announced my opponent failed his pre-fight drug tests, so the result of this fight will be overturned and declared a No Contest. Big thanks to those of us who continue to fight clean!'.
