Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Albans (ranked 23964 p4p, 4320 weight class) and Oskari Sankari (ranked 645 p4p, 493 weight class). Oskari Sankari is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Matthew Albans !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Oskari Sankari!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Albans shoots in and bounces Sankari off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Albans forces his way into half guard.

Albans is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Sankari actively working from the bottom here.
Albans wants to control but Sankari is keeping him busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sankari wants to improve his position but Albans is controlling well.

Sankari throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Albans attempts a counter takedown but Sankari avoids it well and moves away.
Sankari uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Albans has time to react.

Sankari throws a body punch but Albans moves out of range.
Sankari takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Sankari throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Sankari gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Albans to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Albans is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Sankari tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Sankari is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Sankari can't keep his opponent in guard - Albans advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Albans is trying to control. Sankari wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Sankari is in all sorts of trouble here.

Albans is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Sankari can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Sankari defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Albans 's arms.
Sankari tries to roll but Albans sticks to his back.

Albans is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Sankari is defending well though. Albans let's go of the attempt for now.

Albans has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Sankari has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Sankari is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Albans is hanging on to Sankari's back as he tries to escape.

That was a close second round but I would say that Matthew Albans will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

A looping hook to the body misses from Sankari. Albans does a little dance to reset his feet.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Albans , winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
