Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Javier Arroyo (ranked 3364 p4p, 6230 weight class) and Aaron Tate Jr (ranked 407 p4p, 569 weight class). Aaron Tate Jr acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Javier Arroyo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aaron Tate Jr! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tate Jr ducks under a wild hook from Arroyo. Tate Jr throws a lazy uppercut
and Arroyo counters with a right hand to the body. Tate Jr misses with a looping right. Arroyo connects with a solid leg kick. Arroyo takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Tate Jr lands with a hook. Arroyo tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
It looks like Javier Arroyo has been cut. Arroyo lets loose with a powerful body kick. Tate Jr will feel that in the morning. Tate Jr tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Arroyo was well out of range. Poor timing from Tate Jr. Tate Jr keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Arroyo. Arroyo scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Arroyo tries to clinch but Tate Jr is having none of it. Arroyo connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. A head punch blocked on the inside by Tate Jr. Arroyo scores with a nice hook to the head. Tate Jr's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Arroyo misses with some punches.

Arroyo swings wildly with an uppercut but Tate Jr uses good head movement to avoid it. Arroyo scores with a shot to the side of Tate Jr's head. Arroyo is pushing Tate Jr up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Arroyo throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Still in the clinch, Arroyo scores with a nice short uppercut. Tate Jr's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Tate Jr wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Tate Jr wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Arroyo keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Tate Jr's efforts to push away. Tate Jr tries to work over Arroyo's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Arroyo stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Arroyo works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Arroyo moves into the clinch. Arroyo just leaning against Tate Jr, taking a breather. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Arroyo tries to work over Tate Jr's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Arroyo is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tate Jr can do to turn this around? That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. A nice left hand lands by Arroyo.
Tate Jr is looking to break free of the clinch but Arroyo has double underhooks. Arroyo pushes off an throws an elbow but Tate Jr leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Arroyo jumps guard.

Tate Jr manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tate Jr looking to sit in guard and control but Arroyo gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Arroyo wants to control from the top but Tate Jr keeps moving. Tate Jr wants to stand but Arroyo is controlling the position. Arroyo trying to control the position from guard on top but Tate Jr is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Arroyo pushing down on Tate Jr's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Arroyo is working for a submission of some sort.
Arroyo is looking to take a break and control but Tate Jr is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Arroyo missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tate Jr can do anything to dispel that myth. Tate Jr wants to get back to his feet.

A right-left combo lands from Tate Jr. Arroyo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tate Jr swats him away and circles back towards the center. Arroyo ducks under a wild hook from Tate Jr. Javier Arroyo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Tate Jr takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Nice defenses there by Tate Jr. Arroyo dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Tate Jr. That did some damage! Arroyo takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Arroyo loads up on a big right hand but Tate Jr slips the punch. Tate Jr is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. A shot to the body from Tate Jr misses and Arroyo counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Arroyo ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Tate Jr slips under a jab from Arroyo. Arroyo scores with a jab to the jaw. Arroyo scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Tate Jr has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Arroyo. Tate Jr fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Arroyo manages to avoid it. That's three minutes gone in the round. Arroyo feints and then cracks Tate Jr's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Tate Jr down. Arroyo swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Arroyo!
Arroyo takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Arroyo displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Tate Jr thows a left - swing and a miss! Tate Jr moves out of range as Arroyo strikes. Tate Jr misses with a shot to the body and Tate Jr takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Arroyo uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Tate Jr.

Javier Arroyo is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tate Jr accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Tate Jr throws a big elbow that misses. Arroyo seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Tate Jr sitting in guard here, content to control. Tate Jr throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Arroyo works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Arroyo looking for a guillotine here but Tate Jr defends easily.
Aaron Tate Jr has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Arroyo throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
And that's the end of the fight! Javier Arroyo showed his dominance in that final round. Well Arroyo has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
