Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frankie Griggs (ranked 1769 p4p, 731 weight class) and Thomas Hearn (ranked 255 p4p, 108 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Griggs might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to LL Cool J- Momma Said Knock You Out. Hearn comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Clean Sweep - Graft kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Thomas Hearn acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Griggs.
Griggs is looking to land body kicks.
Hearn throws a body kick that misses.
Griggs appears to be looking for a big counter.
Hearn lands a leg kick that knocks Griggs off balance momentarily.
Griggs will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Hearn counters with a body kick that stops Griggs in his tracks momentarily.

Griggs throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Hearn is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Griggs tries to land a front kick but Hearn steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Griggs looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Hearn slips a straight right by Griggs.

Griggs misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hearn.
Griggs tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Hearn fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Griggs on the side of the head.

Hearn lands a hook that snaps the head of Griggs backwards.
Griggs wants to break free but Hearn has control.

Hearn has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Griggs misses with a hook. Hearn ducked under it nicely.
Griggs takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Hearn scores with a kick to the midsection.
Griggs is breathing heavily.
Hearn with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Hearn moves forwards but Griggs connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Griggs misses with a two punch combination.

Hearn lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Hearn fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Griggs.
Griggs looks for the body kick but Hearn saw that one coming.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Griggs.

Hearn cracks Griggs with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Griggs looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Hearn finish him?

Griggs is rocked!

It looks like Frankie Griggs has been cut.

Griggs tries to keep at a distance but Hearn has taken the fight into the clinch.
Oh Griggs is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hearn unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Griggs! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Hearn is unloading with more strikes now! Griggs drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!

Thomas Hearn was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
Frankie Griggs spoke after the fight, saying 'It'll be back to the drawing board. This isn't the end. Everytime I lose I only come back the next fight much stronger.'.
