Augustin Cauchy struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 267.8lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gardner throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Gardner takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Gardner tries to clinch up but Cauchy circles away and keeps his distance.

Gardner lands with a hook. Cauchy tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Gardner cracks Cauchy with a right hand to the side of the head.

Cauchy throws a sloppy head kick and Gardner moves out of range easily.

A little jabbing left from Cauchy on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Cauchy avoids the body shot from Gardner.
Cauchy throws out a counter right but Gardner avoids it with no problem.
Gardner lands a jab and follows it up with a massive straight that knocks Cauchy out cold! Cauchy is crumpled in the corner, his head only propped up by the cage! That's one for the organiziational promos right there! Wow, what a finish!
