PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Jon Jones (ranked 6500 p4p, 6303 weight class) and Olej Saganov (ranked 617 p4p, 600 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jon Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Olej Saganov!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Sandra Marshall and David Hoff.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saganov swats away the attempt to clinch by Jones.
Saganov lands with a kick to the ribs.
Jones throws a wild body kick that Saganov sees coming a mile off.
Saganov is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Jones throws a lazy head kick
and Saganov counters with a one-two to the body.
Saganov scores with a push kick.
Jones takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Saganov scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Saganov avoids a punch combination nicely.
Saganov displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jones throws out the jab.
Saganov looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jones takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Jones fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Saganov, pushing him back against the ropes.
Saganov tries to throw a body punch but Jones avoids it by throwing Saganov back against the ropes.
Saganov with a knee to the head.

It looks like Jon Jones has been cut.
Saganov is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the ropes.
Jones takes a knee right on the jaw!

That's one minute gone in the round.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Saganov tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Jones's elbow.
Saganov lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Saganov lands a right hand.
Jones is breathing heavily.

Saganov drops Jones with a big knee! Will Jones beat the count? Yep, he's up already and we're only at 3... let's see if he's just faking it or if he's actually OK.

Jones is rocked!
Jones walks straight into devastating uppercut and drops to the floor, clearly wobbled! Can he beat the count? 4,5,6,7... he's up! And he's down again! The ref steps in and calls an end to the fight! What a punch that was!
