Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jen Mullins (ranked 4208 p4p, 4925 weight class) and Callan Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Callan Jackson is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jen Mullins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Callan Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Chris Dean and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mullins moves into the clinch.
Jackson is working for takedown but Mullins is calmly controlling the position for now.
Jackson blocking some punches.
Mullins tries for a takedown but Jackson manages to get underhooks.
Jackson landing knees to the head.
Jackson unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Stalling in the clinch from Mullins.
Jackson is trying to break free.
Mullins drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Jackson gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Jackson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Mullins uses from the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mullins controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Jackson is striking from the bottom but Mullins uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.

Jackson wants to get back to full guard.
Jackson is looking to escape.

Mullins is looking for a kimura but Jackson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Mullins to get the leverage.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Mullins in particular looking to stall.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Mullins is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jackson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Mullins.

Mullins decides to return to a standing position.
Jackson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Jackson looks winded!

Mullins closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Mullins seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Mullins decides to stand up.
Jackson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Mullins sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Jen Mullins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Callan Jackson.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jackson.
As Jackson looks to move away, Mullins throws a big counter combo but Jackson just gets out of the way.

Mullins rushes Jackson and presses him up against the cage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Mullins's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Jackson tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Mullins counters with a nice double leg into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mullins cracks Jackson with a solid left hand.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Jen Mullins dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Mullins misses with a body kick.
Mullins misses the shot to the body.
Mullins tries a head kick but it misses.

Mullins decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Mullins decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Jackson shoots in and drives through. Mullins sprawls well.
Mullins stuffs the takedown attempt from Jackson. Jackson gets slowly back to his feet.

Mullins has Jackson up against the cage in a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mullins is trying to trip Jackson. He has hold of a leg but Jackson is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Mullins persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Jackson is breathing heavily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Mullins is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Jackson working a defensive guard but Mullins manages to pass into side control anyway.
Mullins lands some shots froms side control.
Mullins is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jackson can do to turn this around?

Mullins stands up.
Jackson moves in looking to clinch but Mullins pushes him off.
Mullins seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Mullins closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Jackson quickly recovers to half guard.
Jackson is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Mullins scores with a couple of nice shots.
Jackson tries to roll over but Mullins keeps him under control.
Mullins drops an elbow to the side of Jackson's head.

Jackson is rocked!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mullins works his foot free and advances to mount.
Mullins tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Mullins lands a heavy elbow.
Jackson is still in real trouble! Can Mullins finish him?
Mullins controlling from the full mount.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A big strike lands for Mullins! That's really hurt Jackson and he's turned his back - Mullins keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Mullins jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jen Mullins!
