Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alfred Hopkins (ranked 5085 p4p, 24932 weight class) and Zia Pologe (ranked 516 p4p, 657 weight class). Pologe has chosen Die Young as his entrance music. Zia Pologe will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Peter Branson and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hopkins looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Hopkins slows the pace down in half guard.
Hopkins prevents Pologe from standing back up.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pologe is trying to stand back up but Hopkins is controlling him

Hopkins thows a huge punch but Pologe dodges it nicely.

Pologe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hopkins. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Hopkins takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Pologe throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Zia Pologe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hopkins shoots in and gets a takedown into Pologe's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hopkins is standing up over Pologe. Pologe looks to escape but Hopkins dives into side control.

Pologe raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Pologe tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hopkins manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Hopkins feints and as Pologe raises his hands in defense, Hopkins changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Hopkins slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Pologe throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
It looks like Alfred Hopkins has been cut.
Pologe wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Pologe looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hopkins is fending him off so far but Pologe persists. Nope, Hopkins circles away and we're back to standing.
Hopkins is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Pologe can do to turn this around?
Pologe throws a half hearted mid kick.
Hopkins shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Pologe is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Hopkins dives into side control.
Pologe is breathing heavily.
Hopkins working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Alfred Hopkins overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Pologe tries to buck Hopkins off so he can stand up but Hopkins has got his back now - this could be big trouble! He's slapped on a rear naked choke that looks really tight! Pologe falls backwards, slamming Hopkins to the mat but Hopkins holds on tight! Pologe is forced to tap and this one is all over!
