Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rasmus Reedtz (ranked 1022 p4p, 2386 weight class) and Frankie Lamas (ranked 136 p4p, 299 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Frankie Lamas was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rasmus Reedtz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frankie Lamas! The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Skip Squint and Francis DeMontford.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lamas takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. A big right from Reedtz misses. Lamas is looking to land body kicks. Lamas swinging wildly here.
Lamas misses with a left hand and Lamas takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Lamas is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Reedtz throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. An inside leg kick lands from Reedtz. Lamas throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Reedtz on the side of the head.
It looks like Rasmus Reedtz has been cut. Lamas tries to move into range but Reedtz moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Lamas blocks a head kick by Reedtz.
Reedtz has a takedown stuffed. Reedtz connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Lamas momentarily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Reedtz throws a series of punches but Lamas avoids them all with ease. Reedtz looking to score a takedown here. Lamas is defending well but Reedtz drives through and ends up in Lamas's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reedtz is fighting to break Lamas's control of his arms but Lamas is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Reedtz looking to sit in guard and control but Lamas gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Lamas postures up.
Lamas told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Lamas has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Reedtz is proving hard to escape from. Reedtz is controlling Lamas's posture. Lamas must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Lamas decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Reedtz, up you get!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lamas cracks Reedtz with a good jab. Lamas closes the distance looking to clinch and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Lamas lands a nice shot to the body.
Reedtz shoots in looking for a takedown but Lamas manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Reedtz's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Lamas tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. The fight stays on the outside here - Lamas looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Reedtz misses with a low kick. Lamas throws a head kick but Reedtz moves out of range.
Lamas tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Reedtz paws at him with a jab and circles away. Lamas bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. It seemed like Lamas was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Frankie Lamas is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Lamas throws a series of punches but Reedtz moves out of range. Lamas connects with a jab. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Reedtz manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Lamas on his heels. He'll look to pass Lamas's guard now, I'm sure. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Reedtz postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lamas working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Reedtz. Lamas looking to control.
Reedtz trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Reedtz looking to sit in guard and control but Lamas gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Reedtz is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Lamas won't allow Reedtz to sweep him here. Reedtz pulls Lamas in to control the position. Lamas stopping the sweep attempt from Reedtz. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Reedtz holds on and takes a little breather.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Reedtz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Lamas has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Reedtz is proving hard to escape from. Lamas trying to control but Reedtz is working from the bottom. Reedtz has control of Lamas's left arm, preventing Lamas from doing any damage.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Reedtz looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Lamas tests Reedtz's chin there with a solid looking shot. Reedtz looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Reedtz looks for a takedown but Lamas sprawls well. Lamas tries to counter by closing the distance. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Rasmus Reedtz will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Rasmus Reedtz's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Reedtz throws the kick towards the body but Lamas avoids it. Reedtz is looking to score with low kicks. Lamas is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Lamas tests Reedtz's chin there with a solid looking shot. Lamas tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Reedtz keeps the fight on the outside. Lamas wants to clinch up but Reedtz keeps it at a distance. Reedtz circles away from the clinch attempt.
Reedtz fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Lamas checks a leg kick. Lamas wants to counter the offense by Reedtz and move into the clinch position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Reedtz shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Reedtz was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Lamas tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad. Reedtz looking to finish with strikes here!

Reedtz is landing with some decent strikes but Lamas is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lamas wants to control but Reedtz is having none of it. Reedtz has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Lamas is looking to improve his position but Reedtz isn't that keen on the idea. Reedtz dominating with strikes here. Lamas is rocked! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Reedtz cracks Lamas with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Lamas is still in real trouble! Can Reedtz finish him? Reedtz tries to control but Lamas wriggling away. Reedtz postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Lamas looks a forlorn figure.
Lamas taking shots to the head. Reedtz lands a couple of good shots and Lamas has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Reedtz lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Lamas hold on?!

Lamas gets off balance looking for a body kick and Reedtz counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Reedtz is trying to control. Lamas wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Lamas seems to have recovered his senses. Reedtz seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Reedtz throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Lamas to regain full guard. Reedtz is working Lamas over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Reedtz trying to control but Lamas is working from the bottom. Reedtz working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Lamas's head. Reedtz is looking to work some ground and pound but Lamas has wrist control. Lamas keeping moving, preventing Reedtz from controlling successfully. Reedtz throws a big elbow that misses. Rasmus Reedtz overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Reedtz tries to free his leg and advance position but Lamas is retaining full guard. Reedtz trying to control but Lamas is working from the bottom. Reedtz looking to sit in guard and control but Lamas gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reedtz wants to sweep but no luck. Reedtz throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Lamas escapes and throws Reedtz's legs to the side, diving into side control! Reedtz manages to get back to half guard. Lamas trying to control the pace. Reedtz tries to roll over but Lamas keeps him under control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reedtz is working hard here to advance position. Lamas is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Reedtz keeping control of the position. Lamas prevents Reedtz from improving his position. Reedtz makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Reedtz.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Reedtz seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Reedtz wants to sweep here but Lamas controlling him for the moment.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Reedtz slips under a jab from Lamas. Reedtz throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Lamas sees it coming and avoids it easily. Reedtz shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Reedtz was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Reedtz cracks Lamas with an elbow. That is naaassty. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Lamas parries the strikes from Reedtz easily there. Reedtz is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Lamas to escape.
Frankie Lamas has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Reedtz works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
And that's the end of the fight! Rasmus Reedtz showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Reedtz, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
