PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fatal Bruises (ranked 4729 p4p, 4863 weight class) and Bruise Boss (ranked 152 p4p, 0 weight class). Bruises's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Genesis. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Bruise Boss!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Richard Clark and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bruises shoots in and drives through. Boss sprawls well.
Bruises sets himself, and Boss steps forward looking for the clinch! Bruises avoids it this time.
Bruises circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bruises changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Boss tries to avoid it but Bruises manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Boss to the ground. Boss escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Bruises keeps the fight on the outside.
Boss throws a sloppy head kick and Bruises moves out of range easily.
Boss keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fatal Bruises. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Boss is looking to clinch but Bruises is avoiding it.
Bruises tries to clinch up but Boss circles away and keeps his distance.
Boss stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Boss wants it to stay on the feet.
Boss wants to counter the offense by Bruises and move into the clinch position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bruises is looking to stand back up but Boss counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Bruises.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bruises is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Boss is working for a kimura but Bruises is defending it quite comfortably.

Bruises is looking to control Boss's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bruises avoid being mounted?
Boss is controlling the pace.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Boss looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boss keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Bruises is looking to improve his position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Bruises stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bruises wants it to stay on the feet.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Bruises tries to close the distance and clinch up but Boss swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Boss misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Bruises shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Boss pinned against the cage. Boss gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Bruises slaps away a takedown attempt from Boss, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Bruises moves in looking to clinch but Boss pushes him off.

enabling Bruises to counter with a crisp jab.

Fatal Bruises has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bruise Boss.
Bruises ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

and Bruises counters with a crisp one two that drops Boss! Bruises thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Boss to his feet! Boss is in big trouble!

Boss swats away the attempt to clinch by Bruises.
Boss slips a jab from Bruises.
Bruise Boss seems to be getting the better of the standup.

and Boss counters with a stiff right hand.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Boss is defended easily by Bruises.
Bruises shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Boss but Boss pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Boss has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Boss fails with a takedown attempt.
Bruises will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Boss shoots in looking for a takedown. Bruises tries to sprawl out of it but Boss keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bruises manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Boss gets caught napping as Bruises dives in and scores a takedown. Boss manages to retain guard.

Boss pushes Bruises off and scrambles back to his feet.
Fatal Bruises is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Bruises closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Boss to the mat! Boss manages to get full guard.

Boss manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Boss is trying to pull guard but Bruises turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Bruises looking to slow down the pace here.
Boss drops down looking for an ankle pick but Bruises pulls his leg out and moves away.
Bruises closes this distance looking for a takedown but Boss circles away.

Bruises displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Boss.
Boss shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Bruises cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Boss fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Boss tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bruises swivels and escapes.
Bruises pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Bruises throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Boss stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Boss tries to clinch there but Bruises circles away.
Bruises slaps away a takedown attempt from Boss, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Boss is breathing heavily.
Bruises stuffs the takedown attempt from Boss. Boss gets slowly back to his feet.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Bruise Boss will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Bruises throws a nice looking combination but Boss bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

and Boss connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Bruises misses with a low kick.
Bruises throws a head kick but Boss moves out of range.
Boss shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bruises as he avoids it easily.
Boss displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Bruises throws out the jab.
Bruises keeps the fight on the outside.

Boss pushes Bruises off and scrambles back to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bruises goes for a double leg but Boss avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Boss continues to drive forward.

Bruises is trying to pull guard but Boss turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Boss wants to get back to striking at distance but Bruises won't allow it.
Boss is pressed up against the cage. Bruises has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Boss down to the mat. Boss avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Bruises dives in and grabs Boss's left leg, looking for a takedown. Boss pushes down on Bruises's head and hops out.
Boss changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bruises tries to avoid it but Boss manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bruises to the ground. Bruises escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Bruises avoids the head kick by Boss.
Bruises looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Boss appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Bruises tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Boss swivels and escapes.
Boss tries to clinch there but Bruises circles away.
Bruises seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Boss shoots in and gets a takedown into Bruises's guard.
Boss is standing up over Bruises. Bruises looks to escape but Boss dives into side control.


Boss stands up.

Boss slaps away a takedown attempt from Bruises, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Boss doesn't manage to clinch there - Bruises circles away.
Horrible takedown attempt by Boss or perhaps it was just good defense by Bruises, which made it look bad.
Bruises misses with a takedown
and Boss counters with a left and a right that stings Bruises.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bruises throws a leg kick but Boss sees it coming and moves out of range.
The fight stays on the outside here - Boss looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Fatal Bruises has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Bruise Boss is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Bruises throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

And that's the end of the fight!
Bruise Boss comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Boss winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
