PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alhumbooga Inshallah (ranked 4765 p4p, 24628 weight class) and Stev Mander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alhumbooga Inshallah!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stev Mander!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Gregory Folan and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mander ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Mander gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Mander working a defensive guard but Inshallah manages to pass into side control anyway.
Inshallah working away.
Inshallah just content to control the position.
Inshallah tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Inshallah working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Inshallah advances to full mount.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mander is trying to escape the mount.
Inshallah takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Inshallah lands with some strikes.

It looks like Stev Mander has been cut.
Mander is looking to improve his position but Inshallah isn't that keen on the idea.
Mander wants to control but Inshallah is having none of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Inshallah scoring with strikes but Mander is staying in there.
Inshallah with shots to the head and body - Mander looks very uncomfortable down there.
Mander takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

That has opened up Stev Mander's cut even more.
Inshallah content just to control the position here.
Inshallah lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Inshallah controlling from the full mount.
Inshallah has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Mander is looking to get to half guard.
Inshallah controlling the pace for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Inshallah seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Mander for as long as he can get away with.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Mander is desperately trying to improve his position but Inshallah has a good base and remains in mount.
Inshallah tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Alhumbooga Inshallah dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Stev Mander's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Inshallah shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Inshallah was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Mander bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Mander tries to keep at a distance but Inshallah has taken the fight into the clinch.
Mander drops down looking for an ankle pick but Inshallah pulls his leg out and moves away.
Mander with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Mander fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mander fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Alhumbooga Inshallah has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stev Mander.
Inshallah throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mander wants to clinch.
Mander misses with a head kick.
Alhumbooga Inshallah is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Mander throws a sloppy head kick
and Inshallah counters with a three punch combo that has Mander backing up. Mander nods at Inshallah to acknowledge the strikes.
Mander is breathing heavily.

Inshallah darts in and clinches Mander up against the cage.
Mander has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Inshallah breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Mander moves to clinch but Inshallah breaks away
and Inshallah counters with a nice body shot.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Inshallah fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mander, pushing him back against the cage.

Inshallah has hold of one of Mander's legs. Mander is fighting the takedown attempt but Inshallah gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Mander is wriggling around but Inshallah manages to pass to half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!


Inshallah is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Inshallah is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Mander wants to control the action here but instead Inshallah manages to pass to full mount!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Inshallah tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Inshallah has hold of Mander's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Mander manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Inshallah takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Inshallah with shots to the head and body - Mander looks very uncomfortable down there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mander reaches up to try and control the position but Inshallah seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Mander rolls and tries to escape and now Inshallah has his back!
Inshallah is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Mander can do to turn this around?
Inshallah trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Mander doesn't escape.
Alhumbooga Inshallah overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Inshallah's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Inshallah cracks Mander with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Mander from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Alhumbooga Inshallah dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Stev Mander's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Inshallah closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

The cut above Stev Mander's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Mander can't break the clinch.
Inshallah blocks an elbow strike.

Inshallah manages to pull guard.
Inshallah wants to stand up but Mander is controlling him.
Mander wants to control from the top but Inshallah keeps moving.
Inshallah wants to sweep but no luck.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mander slips nicely into half guard.
Mander prevents Inshallah from standing back up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Inshallah keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Mander is stalling here. Inshallah is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Mander seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Inshallah has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Mander looks to move to half guard but instead Inshallah has passed into mount! Damn!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Inshallah lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Stev Mander's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Stev Mander's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Alhumbooga Inshallah!
