Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Konstantin Menshow and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valentine throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Valentine stuffs the takedown.
Silva closes this distance looking for a takedown but Valentine circles away.
Silva shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Valentine as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joao Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Silva misses with a takedown attempt - Valentine sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Valentine shoots in and bounces Silva off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Valentine trying to control but Silva is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silva working for a triangle but Valentine defends it easily.
Silva keeping full guard, as Valentine tries to pass.
Silva escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Valentine gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Silva is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Valentine controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Valentine stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silva swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Valentine advances to half guard.
Valentine passes to full mount!
Valentine has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Silva's face.
Valentine is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Silva is surviving well by controlling Valentine's body position as best he can.
Silva is looking to get to half guard.
A nice elbow there by Valentine.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Valentine with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Valentine working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Silva looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Valentine! Submission of the night perhaps?
