Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Patrick Slinger (ranked 2834 p4p, 3406 weight class) and Gary Bellamy (ranked 273 p4p, 317 weight class). Slinger comes to the cage accompanied by Hail Mary. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Patrick Slinger! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gary Bellamy! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Slinger buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Slinger looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bellamy is fending him off so far but Slinger persists. Nope, Bellamy circles away and we're back to standing. Bellamy jabs Slinger right on the nose. Slinger blinks but takes it well. Bellamy pushes Slinger up against the cage in a clinch. Bellamy trying to land knees to the body.
Bellamy misses with a hook from the clinch. Slinger blocks an uppercut.
Bellamy throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Slinger blocks it with crossed arms. Slinger is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Bellamy struggles to land a body shot inside as Slinger controls his hands.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Slinger gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Slinger looking to pass the guard. Bellamy has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Slinger off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bellamy misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Slinger.
Slinger closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Slinger lands in his opponent's guard. Bellamy has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Slinger has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Bellamy pressing his opponent against the cage. Bellamy gets underhooks to prevent Slinger's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Patrick Slinger. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bellamy doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Bellamy throws a head punch that misses. Bellamy pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Slinger dives in for a single leg takedown but Bellamy sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Knees in the clinch landing for Bellamy.
Bellamy goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Slinger drops down looking for an ankle pick but Bellamy pulls his leg out and moves away.
Slinger keeps the fight on the outside. Slinger drops down looking for a counter takedown but Bellamy sprawls and moves away. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bellamy throws a body punch but Slinger moves out of range. Bellamy blocks a head kick by Slinger.
Slinger shoots and misses and Bellamy counters with a lovely straight right hand! Bellamy connects with a body shot. Gary Bellamy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. A slow jab from Bellamy misses its intended target. Bellamy with a hook. Slinger avoids the body shot from Bellamy.
Slinger goes for a double leg but Bellamy avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Bellamy continues to drive forward.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Slinger blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Bellamy lands on the inside with an uppercut. Slinger is looking for a takedown. Bellamy pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Bellamy instigates a clinch. Bellamy working some nice short punches in the clinch. Bellamy lands with a short shot to the head. Bellamy lands a nice uppercut. Bellamy breaks from the clinch.
Bellamy looks to land a body kick but Slinger moved away. Bellamy blocks a head kick by Slinger.
Bellamy displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Slinger.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bellamy lands an overhand right. Slinger keeps the fight on the outside. Slinger tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Bellamy defends well and Slinger ends up having to push Bellamy into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. This has been an exciting period of action! Slinger changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Bellamy fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Slinger tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bellamy sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Slinger somewhat. Slinger fails with a takedown attempt. Bellamy throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Gary Bellamy dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Slinger bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Gary Bellamy is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Slinger blocks a jab. Slinger scores with a takedown into Bellamy's guard. Slinger won't allow Bellamy to get back to his feet. Slinger cracks Bellamy with a solid left hand. Bellamy is pulling down on Slinger's head to control his posture. Slinger tries to free his leg and advance position but Bellamy is retaining full guard. Bellamy controls Slinger momentarily but Slinger frees himself. Slinger trying to control but Bellamy is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bellamy looking to hit a scissor sweep but Slinger is one step ahead there. Bellamy seems keen to control Slinger's posture.
That's one minute gone in the round. Slinger is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Slinger might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Slinger trying to control the position from guard on top but Bellamy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Slinger is really struggling to control Bellamy but he's trying to hold on to the position. Slinger wants to pass the guard but Bellamy is keeping the position. Slinger trying to control but Bellamy is working from the bottom.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Slinger closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bellamy circles away. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Bellamy! But no joy. Slinger shoots for a double leg takedown but Bellamy sprawls well. He's pushed Slinger's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Slinger ducks right into an uppercut from Bellamy. Bellamy throws a right and a left that both miss.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bellamy stalks Slinger and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Slinger's face. Slinger staggers backwards, shaken.
It looks like Patrick Slinger has been cut. Slinger misses with a takedown attempt - Bellamy sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Patrick Slinger. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bellamy misses with a low kick. Slinger tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Slinger misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Bellamy has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Bellamy looks to land a left hand but Slinger moved out of range nicely. Bellamy stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bellamy wants it to stay on the feet. Slinger shoots in looking for a takedown but Bellamy manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Slinger's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Bellamy looks to score with a jab to the body but Slinger is just out of range. Bellamy throws a right hand that Slinger ducks under and follows up with a left that Slinger also avoids with ease. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Slinger ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Slinger half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Bellamy stuns Slinger with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Slinger shoots in and drives through. Bellamy sprawls well. Bellamy works the jab nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Slinger looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Bellamy tries to clinch and Slinger counters with a single leg into guard. Bellamy didn't expect that. Slinger wants to pass the guard but Bellamy is keeping the position. Bellamy controls Slinger momentarily but Slinger frees himself. Bellamy keeping full guard, as Slinger tries to pass. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bellamy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Bellamy working a defensive guard here.
Bellamy is looking to stand up but Slinger isn't so interested in that idea.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Slinger postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. We've been hearing that Slinger has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Bellamy wants to stand up but Slinger is controlling him. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Slinger looking to pass the guard. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Slinger's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Slinger looking to pass the guard. Bellamy is trying to control the position but Slinger postures up. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Bellamy pulls Slinger in close to prevent any damage. Slinger trying to control but Bellamy is working from the bottom.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Bellamy fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Slinger is out of range. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Gary Bellamy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Patrick Slinger's cut. That's time! Back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round! Slinger tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bellamy swivels and escapes. Slinger changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bellamy looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Slinger is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bellamy knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Bellamy can't do much from the bottom here. Slinger looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Bellamy with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Ground and pound from Slinger. Slinger prevents Bellamy from improving his position. Slinger working over Bellamy with some ground and pound. Bellamy looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Slinger trying to control the action but Bellamy is working from the bottom. Bellamy trying to hold on to Slinger's head to control him but Slinger postures up.
Slinger seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Slinger is trying to control. Bellamy wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Gary Bellamy is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Bellamy is trying to maintain the position but Slinger is very close to passing his half guard. Slinger lands with a punch from half guard. Slinger lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Slinger seems to be looking for submissions.
Slinger looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Bellamy is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Slinger is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bellamy defends it well. Bellamy is trying to maintain the position but Slinger is very close to passing his half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Patrick Slinger showed his dominance in that final round. I think Bellamy has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
