And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Shortman!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dempsey drops Shortman with a beautiful combination! Shortman stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Dempsey is looking for the KO!

Shortman is rocked!

It looks like James Shortman has been cut.
Shortman dives in and grabs Dempsey's left leg, looking for a takedown. Dempsey pushes down on Shortman's head and hops out.
Shortman is still on wobbly legs! Can Dempsey finish him?
Shortman goes for a double leg but Dempsey avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Dempsey continues to drive forward.
It looked like Dempsey was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Shortman.
Shortman seems to have recovered his senses.
Shortman looks winded!
Dempsey throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Shortman stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Dempsey throws an uppercut from hell that sends Shortman clean off his feet! He's out cold! Dempsey stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
