PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Michel Colucci (ranked 181 p4p, 231 weight class) and Randy The Show (ranked 25 p4p, 32 weight class). Colucci's entrance music is Drake ft Kanye - Glow. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Randy The Show!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Show fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Colucci on the side of the head.

It looks like Michel Colucci has been cut.
A nice leg kick lands there from Colucci.
Colucci keeps The Show at a distance using the push kick.
The Show misses with an uppercut. Colucci saw that one coming.
Colucci tries to counter by clinching up but The Show breaks away and moves out of range.
Colucci shoots for a double leg takedown but The Show sprawls well. He's pushed Colucci's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

The Show throws an overhand right that lands on Colucci's shoulder, as Colucci tries to avoid the shot.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The Show stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and The Show wants it to stay on the feet.
The Show has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

It seemed like The Show was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Colucci connects with a vicious head kick that knocks The Show to the floor! Colucci dives in looking for the finish!

The Show is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
The Show is looking for a sweep. Colucci is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The fighters are battling for position here. The Show manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
The Show tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Colucci wants to pass the guard but The Show is keeping the position.
The Show wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

No joy there for The Show, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Colucci closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Colucci is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of The Show's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take The Show's back!
