Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Charles Xavier!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Randleman lands a head kick that stumbles Xavier and the fighters go to the mat.

It looks like Charles Xavier has been cut.
Randleman has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Xavier is proving hard to escape from.
Oh Xavier is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Randleman stands up from Xavier's guard - Randleman perhaps looking for a knockout.

Greg Randleman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Xavier drives through and clinches with Randleman against the cage.

Randleman wants to break free but Xavier has control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Randleman is not content to let Xavier control the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Xavier closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Randleman to the mat! Randleman manages to get full guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Xavier lands a head kick. Randleman smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Randleman throws a head kick that misses

and Xavier decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Randleman's guard.
Randleman keeping moving, preventing Xavier from controlling successfully.
Randleman tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Xavier's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Randleman is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Xavier is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Randleman sees it coming and defends easily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Randleman is looking to escape.

Xavier is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Xavier is just content to waste time from the top position. Randleman takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Randleman escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Xavier gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Randleman is looking for a triangle here but Xavier uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Randleman wants to get back to his feet but Xavier drags him back down.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Xavier is looking to take a break and control but Randleman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Randleman struggling a bit here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Randleman gets back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Xavier in particular looking to stall.
Randleman is looking to control Xavier's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Randleman avoid being mounted?
Xavier wants to control but Randleman is keeping him busy.

Randleman is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Xavier has latched onto it... Big trouble! Xavier pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Randleman is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Xavier!
