Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bryan Gracie (ranked 1433 p4p, 2048 weight class) and Kazuki Takeda (ranked 211 p4p, 297 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Gracie might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Limp Bizkit - Rollin'. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kazuki Takeda!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takeda throws the left hand but Gracie avoids the punch easily.
Gracie feinted with a counter takedown.
Gracie ducks under a wild hook from Takeda.
Gracie drops down looking for a counter takedown but Takeda sprawls and moves away.
Takeda swings for the body but Gracie moves out of range.

Gracie tries to sprawl but Takeda drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Gracie wants to improve his position but Takeda is controlling well.
Takeda with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Gracie has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Takeda is working away from the top position though.

Gracie's coaches at Ludus Magnus have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.

Takeda wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gracie keeps working.

Takeda wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Gracie, who protects the arm well.

Takeda is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Kazuki Takeda showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Let's hope that Takeda has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Well Takeda has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
