Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eugene Whibley (ranked 3586 p4p, 24837 weight class) and King Turn (ranked 429 p4p, 639 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Eugene Whibley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, King Turn !
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, David Hoff and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Turn closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Turn is looking for a takedown.
Whibley swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Turn has Whibley pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Whibley manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Whibley scores with a nice hook to the head.
Come on Whibley - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Turn is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Whibley is defending well.
Eugene Whibley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of King Turn .
Whibley throws a head punch that misses.
Whibley tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Whibley tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Turn avoids it.
The referee is keeping an eye on Whibley - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Turn gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Whibley regains guard.
Whibley will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Whibley pulls Turn in close to prevent any damage.
Turn trying to control the position from guard on top but Whibley is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Turn trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Turn landing with the ground and pound.
Turn works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Whibley controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.

Turn is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Turn looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Whibley is refusing to be controlled, as Turn sits in half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Whibley blocking the ground and pound attempt from Turn .
Turn is keen to just control but Whibley is a slippery customer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Whibley is looking for a sweep. Turn is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Whibley knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Turn on the ground.

Turn is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Whibley sees it coming and defends easily.
Whibley trying to hold on to Turn 's head to control him but Turn postures up.

Whibley is doing well to control the position and prevent Turn from advancing to side control.
Turn wants to lay and pray for a moment but Whibley keeps working.

Whibley is defending against the submission attempts here by Turn .
Whibley is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Island Gym, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
Turn is trying to control the action in half guard but Whibley is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Whibley is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Turn is trying to control. Whibley wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Turn lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Turn passes to full mount!
Turn has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Whibley's face.
Turn trying to control but he's not successful this time.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Turn might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Whibley haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

King Turn dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Turn changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Whibley looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Whibley is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Sloppy strikes there by Turn .
Whibley is looking for a sweep.

Turn is trying to get an arm triangle but Whibley is defending well.

Turn looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Whibley tries to buck Turn off but Turn is having none of it.

Turn goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Whibley rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Turn 's guard! Nice work there by Whibley!
Whibley is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Turn is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Turn working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Whibley doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Whibley manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Turn is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Turn seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Whibley does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Whibley is controlling Turn 's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Turn has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Whibley defend it? Turn steps over the head and cranks it - Whibley is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Turn !

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). King Turn !
