Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Fedor Klen (ranked 6650 p4p, 4810 weight class) and Llyr Njall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fedor Klen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Llyr Njall! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Viktor Lagutenko and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Klen throws a body shot but no joy. Klen gets tackled into the cage by Njall. Njall maintains the clinch. Njall tries to circle away but Klen has him pinned against the cage. Klen goes for a takedown attempt but Njall pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Klen misses with a body kick. Njall is trying hard to land a takedown here. Klen sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Njall clinches up against the cage. Klen takes a knee to the side of the body. Klen tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Njall just stands there and leans against the cage. Njall wants to take the fight to the mat but Klen manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Klen is looking to break free of the clinch but Njall has double underhooks. Njall turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Njall manages to end up in side control. Klen bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Njall wants to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Njall shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Klen sprawls well. Klen wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Njall gets slowly back to his feet. Klen tries to counter by clinching up but Njall breaks away and moves out of range. Fedor Klen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Llyr Njall. Njall gets caught flat footed, as Klen shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Njall has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Klen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Njall wants to sweep but no luck.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Klen trying to control the position from guard on top but Njall is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Klen looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Klen tries to stand but Njall is controlling from the bottom. Njall tries to land a sweep but no joy. Njall keeping moving, preventing Klen from controlling successfully. Klen preventing the sweep. Njall working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Klen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Klen manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Klen controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Klen closes the distance and clinches. Njall tries to pull guard but Klen won't allow it.
Klen will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Njall up against the cage. Njall is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Klen is keeping busy. Klen dodges an elbow strike from Njall.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Klen keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Njall's efforts to push away. Klen tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Njall just stands there and leans against the cage. Njall missing with knees to the body.
Klen breaks from the clinch.
Klen rushes Njall and presses him up against the cage. Klen can't get the takedown.
Njall is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Klen taking a breather. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Klen decides to pull guard. Klen working a defensive guard here.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Fedor Klen dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Njall scores with a head kick.
Njall shoots in for a takedown but Klen shows good takedown defense. Njall has a takedown stuffed. Njall closes this distance looking for a takedown but Klen circles away. Fedor Klen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Llyr Njall. Njall looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Sloppy strikes from Njall. Those never looked like landing. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Njall fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Njall is breathing heavily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Klen fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Njall avoids it really well and circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Njall misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Klen.
Klen throws a sloppy head kick and Njall moves out of range easily. Klen moves into range and clinches up with Njall. Njall blocks a body shot from Klen. Njall jumps guard.
Njall keeping moving, preventing Klen from controlling successfully. Njall wants to stand up but Klen is controlling him. Njall looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Klen with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Njall is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Klen content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Njall can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Klen controls the pace.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Njall shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Klen is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Klen moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Klen on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Klen tries to get out of the position. Klen controlling the position. Njall looking to sit in guard and control but Klen gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Klen trying to control the position from guard on top but Njall is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Klen is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Klen has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Njall is proving hard to escape from. Klen trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Klen pushing down on Njall's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Njall tries to get to full guard but Klen has control of the leg. Klen tries to pass to full mount but Njall defends it. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Njall has a hand on Klen's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Klen takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Fedor Klen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Njall lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Klen looks for a takedown but Njall sprawls well. Klen shoots for a double leg takedown but Njall sprawls well. He's pushed Klen's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Some wild striking there from Klen.
Njall drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Klen defends it well. Njall tries to clinch there but Klen circles away.
Njall closes the distance and clinches up with Klen, looking for a takedown. Njall pushes Klen against the cage but Klen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. As Njall looks to move away, Klen throws a big counter combo but Njall just gets out of the way. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Klen closes this distance looking for a takedown but Njall circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fedor Klen. That's going to take a lot out of him. No luck for Klen with that takedown attempt. Njall changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Njall tries to clinch up but Klen circles away and keeps his distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Horrible takedown attempt by Njall or perhaps it was just good defense by Klen, which made it look bad. Nice shot by Njall. Klen tries to clinch there but Njall circles away.

and Klen counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Klen sitting and controlling from the half guard. Klen is trying to control. Njall wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Njall is holding on to half guard well. Njall is refusing to be controlled, as Klen sits in half guard. Klen prevents Njall from standing back up.
Klen trying to mount his opponent but Njall defends it. Klen decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Klen gets caught flat footed, as Njall shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. The fighters are working up against the cage. Klen manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Njall trying to land knees to the body.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Klen as Njall tries to tie him up. Klen displaying some good clinch control by pressing Njall up against the cage. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Klen is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Njall is defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Njall letting Klen take a breather here. Klen could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Klen jumps guard but Njall stands there with Klen around his waist. Klen gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Njall breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Klen stuffs the takedown attempt from Njall. Njall gets slowly back to his feet. A jab lands there for Njall. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Njall gets caught flat footed, as Klen shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Llyr Njall has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Fedor Klen is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Njall has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Klen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Fedor Klen. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Klen, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
