Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jordan Karpov (ranked 3857 p4p, 3878 weight class) and Jack McGregson (ranked 461 p4p, 464 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jack McGregson was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 4 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jordan Karpov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jack McGregson! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Percy O'Donnell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McGregson fails with the takedown. Karpov gets in close and instigates a clinch. Karpov lands with a short head shot on the inside. Nice body punch from Karpov - that landed with a thud.
McGregson tries to pull guard but Karpov forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Nice body punch from Karpov - that landed with a thud.
A nice left hand lands by Karpov.
I was talking to Karpov's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Karpov throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. A nice right hand lands inside from Karpov. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nice elbow from Karpov. Karpov lands a nice uppercut. McGregson pulls Karpov into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Karpov forces his way into half guard. McGregson is pressing down on Karpov's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Karpov slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. McGregson tries to land a sweep but no joy. Karpov content to stall in guard here. McGregson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Karpov avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Karpov accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Karpov slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. McGregson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Karpov defends well. Karpov engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Karpov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McGregson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Karpov's corner is telling him to maintain position. McGregson keeping full guard, as Karpov tries to pass. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. McGregson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Karpov instigates a clinch. McGregson fails to pull guard.
We've been informed that McGregson has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Jordan Karpov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack McGregson. McGregson is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Karpov to keep the fight standing. Karpov lands a body shot. McGregson tries to pull guard but Karpov won't allow it.
Karpov stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. McGregson turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! McGregson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Karpov is trying to improve his position. McGregson has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Karpov! Karpov is looking to get to half guard. Karpov is working hard here to advance position. Karpov is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Karpov keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Jordan Karpov dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Karpov moves into the clinch successfully.
Karpov scores with a shot to the side of McGregson's head. McGregson wants to take the fight to the mat but Karpov manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Karpov lands a shot to the body. Karpov prevents the takedown attempt.
Karpov lands a left hand.
Karpov lands a shot to the body. Karpov is working McGregson over against the cage. McGregson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Karpov just stands there and leans against the cage. Jordan Karpov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack McGregson. Karpov stalls. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A short right hand to the side of the head by Karpov. McGregson takes an elbow to the temple. McGregson is breathing heavily. Karpov presses McGregson against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Karpov will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning McGregson up against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. McGregson changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Karpov fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Karpov pushes McGregson up against the cage in a clinch. A short right hand to the side of the head by Karpov. Karpov scores with a shoulder strike.
McGregson is rocked! Karpov dips a shoulder and cracks McGregson with a mighty uppercut! McGregson falls back against the cage and Karpov unloads with a barrage of strikes! McGregson is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Karpov screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jordan Karpov! Our winner, Jordan Karpov, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
