The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Mauricio Rocha and Felipe Paraventi.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Gracie closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into MacGowan's guard.

MacGowan wants to sweep but no luck.

Gracie is pushing down on MacGowan's leg trying to pass to half guard. MacGowan is fighting to maintain full guard but Gracie has managed to sneak the leg through.

Gracie seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

MacGowan takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
MacGowan looking to control but Gracie is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

MacGowan avoids the attempt from Gracie to control.

Gracie might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control MacGowan haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Gracie is squirming around, avoiding MacGowan's attempts to control the action.

Gracie bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Gracie sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed MacGowan's guard.
MacGowan is not content to let Gracie control the position.
MacGowan is trying to control but Gracie manages to pass to mount!

MacGowan is looking to improve his position but Gracie isn't that keen on the idea.
Gracie can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as MacGowan is looking to escape.

MacGowan prevents Gracie from taking his back.

Gracie goes for an armbar but MacGowan turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from MacGowan.

MacGowan trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Gracie has his feet on MacGowan's thighs here. He's pushed MacGowan off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! MacGowan screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
