Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Akio Kurosaki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Clint River!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Elvis Blanc and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
River fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kurosaki manages to avoid it.
River throws an overhand right that lands on Kurosaki's shoulder, as Kurosaki tries to avoid the shot.
A big right from River misses.

Kurosaki closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Kurosaki looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Kurosaki is trying to control the action in half guard but River is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if River can do anything to dispel that myth.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kurosaki wants to free his trapped foot but River is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kurosaki is looking to take a break and control but River is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Kurosaki is working for a kimura but River is defending it quite comfortably.
Kurosaki wants to free his trapped foot but River is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Kurosaki is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so River is just riding it out for now. Kurosaki eventually gives up the hold.
Kurosaki is controlling the pace.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kurosaki wants to pass the guard but River is defending well.
Kurosaki works his foot free and advances to mount.
Kurosaki can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as River is looking to escape.

Kurosaki is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, River has managed to escape the submission attempt.

River prevents Kurosaki from taking his back.
Kurosaki can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as River is looking to escape.
River is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Kurosaki trying to control but River is having none of it.
River told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kurosaki content just to control the position here.

River defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Kurosaki.

Kurosaki goes for an armbar but River turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from River.

Kurosaki is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and River defends well.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kurosaki is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

River throws a jab when Kurosaki was well out of range.
River throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kurosaki tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but River paws at him with a jab and circles away.
River connects with a single shot there.

It looks like Akio Kurosaki has been cut.
River lands a body shot.

River gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kurosaki to score an easy takedown into full guard.
River keeping moving, preventing Kurosaki from controlling successfully.
Kurosaki trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but River manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!


Kurosaki looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but River is defending well. Kurosaki quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! River has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Kurosaki celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
