Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ludwig Lachmann (ranked 1190 p4p, 259 weight class) and Torhte Finlayson (ranked 180 p4p, 43 weight class). Finlayson has chosen Scotland the Brave, Black Bear as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ludwig Lachmann! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Torhte Finlayson! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, David Hoff and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lachmann shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Finlayson as he jumps to the side. Lachmann tries for a takedown but Finlayson circles away easily and Finlayson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Finlayson's coach down at Island Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Finlayson's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Ludwig Lachmann seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Finlayson connects with the punch. Finlayson dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Lachmann gets a takedown into half guard. Finlayson is not content to let Lachmann control the position. Lachmann is working for a kimura but Finlayson is defending it quite comfortably.
Lachmann definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Finlayson is positioning himself well to prevent Lachmann advancing to mount.

Finlayson is trying to control Lachmann's posture but Lachmann avoids it. Lachmann tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Finlayson can't do much from the bottom here. Lachmann goes for a double leg but Finlayson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Finlayson continues to drive forward. Lachmann has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Finlayson uses from the top position. Lachmann is looking for a triangle but Finlayson pushes his legs off easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Finlayson is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Lachmann's shoulder. That is not cool. Lachmann struggling a bit here. Lachmann gets back to half guard. Lachmann is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Lachmann actively working from the bottom here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Ludwig Lachmann dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Lachmann with a poor takedown and Finlayson counters with a nice right hand that sends Lachmann toppling to the canvas! Lachmann scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Finlayson finish him?! and Finlayson counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Lachmann! He's just covering up as Finlayson starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
