Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yoshimitsu Kunimitsu (ranked 6090 p4p, 6821 weight class) and Lloyd Christenson (ranked 0 p4p, 718 weight class). Kunimitsu comes to the cage accompanied by Kickboxer Soundtrack. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Yoshimitsu Kunimitsu ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Lloyd Christenson! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Sandra Marshall and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kunimitsu keeps the fight on the outside. Kunimitsu appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Kunimitsu leaves Christenson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Kunimitsu drops down looking for a counter takedown but Christenson sprawls and moves away. Kunimitsu stuffs the takedown. Kunimitsu tries to counter with a takedown but Christenson is quick to defend against it. Yoshimitsu Kunimitsu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Christenson wants to clinch up but Kunimitsu keeps it at a distance. Kunimitsu tries to counter with a takedown but Christenson is quick to defend against it. Christenson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kunimitsu .
Christenson fails with a takedown attempt. Yoshimitsu Kunimitsu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lloyd Christenson. Christenson on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kunimitsu feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Kunimitsu preventing the sweep. Kunimitsu lands a couple of digs. Christenson is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Christenson throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kunimitsu postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Christenson is rocked! Christenson tries to strike from the bottom.
Christenson is still in real trouble! Can Kunimitsu finish him? Kunimitsu controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Christenson seems to have recovered his senses. Kunimitsu has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Kunimitsu postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Kunimitsu might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Kunimitsu chips away with some ground and pound. Kunimitsu postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Christenson covers up, he's hurt! Kunimitsu keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Kunimitsu and the ref steps in to end the fight! Kunimitsu can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Yoshimitsu Kunimitsu ! Yoshimitsu Kunimitsu seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
