Coming up we have a heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Rick Piano (ranked 196 p4p, 3540 weight class) and Jon Erikson (ranked 36 p4p, 417 weight class). Piano kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Rick Piano Man. Erikson has chosen Gåte - Statt Opp as his entrance music. Rick Piano could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jon Erikson's chin.

The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Ren Mimura.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Erikson slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Erikson misses with a kick to the body
and Piano connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Piano throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Erikson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Piano .

Piano throws a sloppy head kick and Erikson moves out of range easily.

Erikson scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Erikson feints and then cracks Piano 's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Piano down.

Piano tries to counter by clinching up but Erikson breaks away and moves out of range.
Erikson has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Piano goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Erikson is looking to clinch.
Piano needs to keep his hands up - Erikson had a free shot at his head there.

The fighters circling - Erikson throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Erikson creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Piano tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Erikson's elbow.

Erikson is trying to break the clinch but Piano has him pressed against the ropes.

It looks like Jon Erikson has been cut.
Piano goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Piano breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Piano counters with a lead uppercut that lands right on the button! Erikson goes down! Will Erikson beat the count? 3,4,5 - he's up! No problem. Let's get back to the action!

Piano fakes the leg kick and cracks Erikson in the body.
Erikson walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Piano checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Piano pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Piano cracks Erikson with a perfect right hand that drops him to the mat! Erikson is sitting up but I can't see if he's OK from my position. The referee's count has reached 5,6,7 and Erikson is still not up. Can he make it? 8,9,10! He's out! Erikson could not beat the count!
