Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hick Diaz (ranked 4388 p4p, 4355 weight class) and Chiharu Shiba (ranked 556 p4p, 553 weight class). Shiba has chosen Sick Puppies - Survive as his entrance music. Chiharu Shiba will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Diaz feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Diaz definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Diaz is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Shiba is just riding it out for now. Diaz eventually gives up the hold.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Hick Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Diaz shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Shiba manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Diaz drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Diaz as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Shiba screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Diaz! Nice submission victory there!
