Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Eric Yuppers (ranked 5286 p4p, 5456 weight class) and Simo Halli (ranked 610 p4p, 614 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Simo Halli!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yuppers tries to sprawl but Halli drives through with a takedown into half guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Eric Yuppers will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Halli fails with the takedown
and Halli takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Halli fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Yuppers sprawls well initially but Halli persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Halli uses his free foot to push down on Yuppers's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Yuppers.
Yuppers tries to hold on but Halli pushes him away.
Halli with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

I have no idea who won that fight. Let's wait and see whether the judges are as confused as me! Time for a split decision perhaps?!. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
