Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jimi Korpela (ranked 0 p4p, 4009 weight class) and Michael Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 487 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimi Korpela! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Michael Santos! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Chris Edwards and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Korpela checks the leg kick. Santos tries a head kick but it misses.
Santos blocks the body kick.
Korpela throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
It looks like Michael Santos has been cut. Santos misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Korpela avoids the body shot from Santos.
Korpela goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Santos throws a head kick that half lands.
Korpela misses with a low kick. Korpela has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Crunch! Korpela slams his shin into Santos's torso. Santos takes a kick to the side of the head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Santos throws a combination that misses and Korpela counters by moving into the clinch. Korpela blocks the elbow strike.
Korpela pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. No joy there for Santos, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

That's one minute gone in the round. Santos throws a hook but Korpela blocks it. Santos swinging wildly here.
A looping hook to the body misses from Korpela. Santos does a little dance to reset his feet. An inside leg kick lands from Korpela. Korpela chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Michael Santos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Korpela tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Santos changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Korpela tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Nice takedown defense from Korpela. No joy for Santos on that attempt. A slapping body kick lands there for Korpela. Korpela closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Korpela pushes Santos back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Korpela utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.

Santos looks winded! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Santos leaning his opponent against the cage. Korpela with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Korpela throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Santos blocks it with crossed arms. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Korpela breaks the clinch.
Santos lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. A thudding body kick lands there by Korpela!

Santos tries to counter with a clinch but Korpela shakes him off and moves away. Santos has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Santos throws a head kick that misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Korpela throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Korpela slips a jab from Santos. Santos closes the distance and clinches up with Korpela, looking for a takedown. Santos pushes Korpela against the cage but Korpela circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Korpela avoids a punch combination nicely.
Korpela lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Korpela lands a nice looking kick to the body. Santos takes a step back to recover. Santos sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Korpela thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Santos if he has to take too many more of those.
Both fighters circling a little - Korpela finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. A nice leg kick lands there from Korpela. Santos has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Korpela. Korpela throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Santos throws a sloppy head kick and Korpela moves out of range easily. Korpela blocks a leg kick. Korpela delivers a nice body kick. Korpela scores with a head kick. Santos tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. This has been an exciting period of action! Korpela scores with a head kick.
Santos is rocked!
That has opened up Michael Santos's cut even more. Korpela thows a body kick. Santos tries to catch it but that hurt him. Santos is still on wobbly legs! Can Korpela finish him? Crack! A monster head kick from Korpela and Santos falls like a tree - timbeeeeeeeeeeerrrr! A highlight reel knockout by Korpela!
