Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Casimiro Nicoletta (ranked 1409 p4p, 1879 weight class) and Pinina Zhikova (ranked 209 p4p, 256 weight class). Nicoletta comes to the cage accompanied by For Once In My Life. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Casimiro Nicoletta!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pinina Zhikova!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Andrew Berry and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nicoletta tries to sprawl but Zhikova drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Nicoletta has one foot on Zhikova's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Zhikova tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Nicoletta swivels and escapes.
Nicoletta jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Nicoletta throws a head kick that misses.
Zhikova fails with the takedown
and Nicoletta counters with a three punch combo that has Zhikova backing up. Zhikova nods at Nicoletta to acknowledge the strikes.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Nicoletta lands a leg kick that knocks Zhikova off balance momentarily.

Nicoletta looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Casimiro Nicoletta has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pinina Zhikova.

We've been told by Nicoletta's head coaches at Fist of Fury Training Center that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Nicoletta throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Zhikova misses with a takedown attempt - Nicoletta sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Nicoletta keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Zhikova throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nicoletta's waist but Nicoletta gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Zhikova off to one side.

Nicoletta throws a jab when Zhikova was well out of range.
Zhikova fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Nicoletta avoids it really well and circles away.

and Nicoletta counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Zhikova shoots for a double leg takedown but Nicoletta sprawls well. He's pushed Zhikova's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Zhikova shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Zhikova takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Zhikova dives in and grabs Nicoletta's left leg, looking for a takedown. Nicoletta pushes down on Zhikova's head and hops out.
Nicoletta leaves Zhikova with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Nicoletta lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nicoletta throws out a loose jab but Zhikova uses good head movement to avoid it.
Zhikova closes this distance looking for a takedown but Nicoletta circles away.
Nicoletta misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Zhikova shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Nicoletta pinned against the cage. Nicoletta gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Nicoletta thinks about countering with a body kick.

Zhikova will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Nicoletta. Zhikova shrugs it off though.

Nicoletta slaps away a takedown attempt from Zhikova, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Zhikova goes for a double leg but Nicoletta avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Nicoletta continues to drive forward.
Zhikova fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Zhikova takes a kick to the side of the head.
It looks like Pinina Zhikova has been cut.
Nicoletta throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Nicoletta gets caught napping as Zhikova dives in and scores a takedown. Nicoletta manages to retain guard.
Nicoletta is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Zhikova presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Zhikova has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Nicoletta avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Nicoletta lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Zhikova is looking to take this one to the mat.
Nicoletta lands a right hand.
Nicoletta lands a left hand that snaps the head of Zhikova backwards.
Nicoletta pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Zhikova misses with a takedown
and Nicoletta counters with a massive head kick! KABOOM! Zhikova is out cold! A devastating KO!
