And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Newton Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Donald Grub and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz swings for the body but John moves out of range.
John throws a quick counter head kick but Diaz was just out of range.
John bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
John looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Diaz lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but John circles away quickly and effectively.
John lands a slapping body shot.
John cracks Diaz with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Diaz looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can John finish him?
Diaz is rocked!
It looks like Newton Diaz has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Diaz bobbing and weaving nicely... He's ducked under a jab and ducks again but ooooooh! John comes at him with an uppercut from hell! Diaz falls to the canvas, unconscious! This one is all over! Oh man, looking at the replay that was right on the button! Diaz was out before he hit the floor!
