Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Diego Armando (ranked 3203 p4p, 3294 weight class) and Tony Paulik (ranked 417 p4p, 429 weight class). The key to victory for Diego Armando has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Armando cracks a nice hook into Paulik's ribs.

Paulik shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Armando on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Armando tries to get out of the position.

Paulik looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Paulik wants to work for an arm triangle but Armando is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Paulik wants to advance to full mount but Armando doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Paulik stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Armando swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Paulik has gone for a leg lock! Armando slips out almost immediately though and dives into Paulik's guard.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Paulik has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Paulik there as he acknowledges the shot.
Paulik looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Armando is fending him off so far but Paulik persists. Nope, Armando circles away and we're back to standing.
Paulik takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Armando lands a right hook to the body.

Paulik shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Armando counters with a crisp right hand that drops Paulik! Armando lets Paulik back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Armando moves in close and cracks Paulik with a massive right hand! Paulik, frozen momentarily in time, tumbles to the canvas, already out cold! A brutal knockout by Armando!
