Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cameron Bye (ranked 1439 p4p, 4229 weight class) and Jab Buckeye (ranked 222 p4p, 541 weight class). Buckeye has chosen Right above it lil Wayne as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jab Buckeye was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cameron Bye!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jab Buckeye!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Paul Aken and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buckeye looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bye is fending him off so far but Buckeye persists. Nope, Bye circles away and we're back to standing.
Bye throws a big counter combination but Buckeye scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Buckeye shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Bye counters with a left and a right that stings Buckeye.
Buckeye misses with a takedown
and Bye counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

It looks like Jab Buckeye has been cut.
Cameron Bye has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jab Buckeye.
Bye throws a series of strikes that have Buckeye backpedaling.
Buckeye misses the jab.
Bye uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Buckeye has time to react.
Bye swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Buckeye goes for a double leg but Bye avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Bye continues to drive forward.

and Bye counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Buckeye thinking.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Buckeye counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bye is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Far-Q Fight Club that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Buckeye throws a right hand that Bye ducks under and follows up with a left that Bye also avoids with ease.
Bye looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Buckeye is fending him off so far but Bye persists. Nope, Buckeye circles away and we're back to standing.
Buckeye stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Buckeye wants it to stay on the feet.
Bye dodges the punch combination from Buckeye.
Bye connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Buckeye is defended easily by Bye.

Bye has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Buckeye is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Buckeye drops down looking for an ankle pick but Bye pulls his leg out and moves away.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Bye feints and then cracks Buckeye's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Buckeye down.
Cameron Bye is winning the standup battle so far.
Buckeye on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Buckeye tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bye swivels and escapes.
Buckeye changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bye tries to avoid it but Buckeye manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bye to the ground. Bye escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Buckeye counters with a lovely straight right hand!

and Bye cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Buckeye shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bye pinned against the cage. Bye gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Bye paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Bye scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Well Bye has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
